SteelMaster Buildings has been named a semifinalist in Monarch Bank’s Top Flight Award. A panel of judges chose the semifinalists based on criteria that factored in growth over the past three fiscal years in both revenue and full-time employees, community service and a brief essay describing how the company will use the prize.

SteelMaster Buildings is enjoying its 30th anniversary in 2012 and has become known as the leading manufacturer of steel and metal pre-fabricated arched buildings. In all, the firm boasts more than 40,000 structures in more than 50 countries, with its buildings serving residential, commercial and industrial customers. Since 2008, it has seen tremendous growth in revenue (19 percent), profit (29 percent) and employees (19 percent). SteelMaster has garnered its share of awards, ranging from Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce “Top 10 Company to Watch” and Inside Business “Roaring 20? to “Top 12 to Watch Company in Virginia” by the United States Senate Productivity and Quality Award Program to the “Small Business Exporter of the Year” by the Small Business Association. SteelMaster Stored for Eight Years Still Perfect

From time to time we get contacted by customers who have purchased their SteelMaster from another customer who never got around to erecting their steel building. Their main concern is what kind of condition the building will be in after being stored for such long periods of time. We recently got an email from Dave N. who purchased an unassembled SteelMaster third hand. The building had been stored on the ground in Oregon weather for eight years and only had minor staining. "There is essentially zero corrosion anywhere. Most impressive!” said Dave.

Dave was also amazed at how easy it was to construct his new steel storage buildings. "Everything fit. Period. No holes needed to be wallowed out to fit,” Dave wrote.

Your Next DIY Project A Steel Building

Now that spring is here and temperatures are beginning to warm up, it is time to get outside on the weekends and take care of all of those projects around the house. Whether you're an avid do-it-yourselfer or a novice, here's a simple project for anyone who needs a little extra storage space or a larger work area.

    Step 4: Add End Walls and Trim – Finish your new steel garage with any style end wall and/or trim that you desire!
